When do I get a ZIP instead of one PDF?
Range mode and every-page mode create multiple files and pack them in a ZIP. Extract mode returns a single PDF.
Are overlapping ranges allowed?
No. Invalid or overlapping ranges are rejected before processing so you can correct them.
Does splitting remove the unused pages from disk?
The original file on your computer is unchanged. Only the downloaded output contains the pages you asked for.
